Some Austin Planning and Zoning Commissioners are asking residents angry with the CodeNEXT process, don’t to quit on them now. Commissioner Abigail Tatkow says while the Land use rules rewrite still isn’t perfect, they’ve made some big strides, she says the planning commission has made some very exciting recommendations to address some of the concerns and make the document less complicated and more predictable.
Those recommendations include creating anti gentrification tools, a new strategic housing blueprint that put more houses on the ground, and have incentives for building Accessory dwelling units. She hopes residents that have issues with the rewrite voice them to council.
They say there is alot of misconception about the land use rules rewrite and believe it needs to continue and be made better though City Council.
