Karl Rove talks with Kenny Rahmeyer about Rove’s latest book, “The Triumph of William McKinley, Why the Election of 1896 Still Matters”.

In the first part of the interview, they discuss the similarities between the 1896/2016 elections. At the halfway point, Rove discusses the pivotal role played by the city of Austin in the 1896 Texas state nominating convention. Toward the end, they discuss current politics, including Pres Trump, the growing field ofDemocratic presidential candidates, Beto O’Rourke, Senator John Cornyn and more.
