The Austin Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a homicide that happened earlier this month in north Austin. Kenan Greene was arrested by the Lone Star fugitive Task Force and booked into the Travis County Jail for the alleged killing of Comarri Thompson.

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 2:07 a.m., APD responded to a Shoot/Stab Hotshot at 804 East Braker Lane, near the intersection of Dessau Road. According to reports, a female caller could be heard yelling for help, stating that she had been shot and someone else was dead.

Officers arrived at the scene and located the woman and a man, both of whom had gunshot wounds. The man was identified as Thompson, the woman’s boyfriend. He died as a result of his gunshot wounds, and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Homicide detectives say the investigation showed that the couple were at the intersection when a white vehicle pulled up next to them, allegedly driven by Greene, and shot multiple times into their car, killing Thompson. The vehicle then left the scene.

The woman was later transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries sustained from the shooting.

Greene now faces a charge of first-degree murder,

The case is Austin’s 34th homicide of 2025.
