It’s Distracted Driving Awareness month in Texas, and a majority of people polled in a new survey admit to regularly using their phones while behind the wheel, whether it be sending a text or surfing social media.
Laura Adams with “Drivers Ed Dot Com” says the constant alerts and dings from p[hones have created a Pavlovian effect, compelling people to check their phones even when they shouldn’t. Back in 2017, lawmakers passed a bill banning cell phone use for all drivers across the state.
