Pflugerville keeps the door open for an 8-percent increase to the tax rate.
It’s not something City Manager Sareniah Breland wants to do, and she’s actually very optimistic that your tax bill will drop ever so slightly in the coming year, “Your current tax rate 0.4976, I’m Proposing to go to a 0.4970”
However, this week the city has also discussed the possibility of upping the rate to 8%, which is allowable during a disaster declaration.
Next month, Pflugerville City Council will hold public talks on the new rate.  Breland said there’s an $850,000 difference between a 3.5% rate and an 8% rate.
