Unemployed Texans currently receiving benefits from the state could start seeing an additional $300 per week starting as early as August 23rd. Governor Abbott announced the Texas Workforce Commission has filed an application for the additional Federal money through President Trump’s Lost Wage Assistance Program rolled out earlier this month. Unemployed Texans currently receiving at least $100 a week in state unemployment assistance are eligible for the additional money. In a statement Governor Abbott said the new benefits would be back dated to August first.
