Austin and Travis County’s COVID numbers are reflecting similar trajectories to much of the nation. The county health authority has bumped the area down to Stage 2 today, further loosing local restrictions. The change also allows fully vaccinated people to go without a mask indoors, so long as a business does not have its own mask requirement.
An Austin police officer involved in a confrontation on 6th street in 2025 has been indefinitely suspended.
