Austin police say a man has been killed this morning after being hit by a train on West St. Elmo Circle and Mount Vernon Drive. Not much is known about the victim but APD Corporal Kimberly Jansky said it’s not uncommon to see people getting too close to the tracks in that area.
The train is operated by Union Pacific. Police say the conductor did stop. Homicide detectives are also on the scene investigating this death.
