Bee Cave Middle School is now officially open for business. Given that LTISD’s growth has been a steady 4-6-percent each year, spokesman Marco Alvarado said this new campus was very much needed considering the projected 60{fbcf2a5c42fe71624047a18c73673849799bd5d53cdb5d8ca16f4833367ca63d} increase in student enrollment in less than a decade. Alvarado also mentions that when this is all said and done, they are looking at a growth of 16,000 students.
Officials said it will relieve some of the pressure on Lake Travis Middle School, which had more than 1600 kids enrolled last year.
Right now there are about 11-thousand students across the district. And at a time when districts like Austin are struggling to stop the outbound migration of students, LTISD remains one of the fastest growing in Central Texas.
