APD Makes Bust in Drug Trafficking Investigation

An Austin man is facing a number of felony charges after police say he was found with a significant amount of illegal drugs.

According to APD, a prolonged investigation into drug trafficking and distribution led the Narcotics Support Unit to execute a search warrant at a residence located at 91 Red River Street.

Detectives obtained the warrant and conducted the search, which resulted in Carrillo’s arrest for money laundering, a second-degree felony, and delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.

During the search, detectives seized the following items:

  • 20.4 pounds of marijuana
  • 194 THC vape cartridges
  • 2,900 grams of suspected psilocybin-laced candy bars
  • 8.6 grams of cocaine
  • Over $200,000 in U.S. currency

Carrillo was taken into custody without incident. Additional felony charges are pending.
