Over the past several months, the Austin Police Department has been working to track down and arrest the people behind a series of vehicle burglaries at Austin parks.

Previously, APD identified Armynie White and Tyrique Young in connection to the alleged burglaries. Now, both White and Young have been arrested in separate incidents.

APD says a warrant warrant was issued charging Tyrique Young with credit and debit card abuse, which related to bank cards stolen from a vehicle at the Bull Creek Trailhead on October 8. He was located and taken into custody without incident.

At the time of his arrest, Young was reportedly in possession of property that had been stolen from a separate, more recent vehicle burglary at Mount Bonnell on November 2.

Armynie White, meantime, was located during a traffic stop in the Mueller area. White provided false identifying information to officers, APD said, and was arrested for failure to identify as a fugitive, as well as 17 other outstanding warrants from various law enforcement agencies, six of which include credit card or debit card abuse from APD.

White has the following active warrants throughout Texas and the U.S.:

  • One charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon,
  • Two charges of Failure to Identify as a Fugitive,
  • Two charges of Fraud Use or Possession of Personal Identifying Information,
  • One charge Burglary of a Vehicle,
  • One charge Credit Card of Debit Card Abuse and one charge Escape While Arrested
  • One charge of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and one charge of Burglary of a Vehicle
  • One charge of Failure to Appear – Burglary

Additional charges are pending.
