Lawyers for a state senator accused of sexual misconduct are making demands of the University of Texas.
Georgetown Senator Charles Schwertner continues to deny sending any lewd text massages to a UT grad student over the summer, despite her claims that he did. Schwertner’s attorneys say the senator has taken a polygraph test, during which he was asked questions about those texts.
As Schwertner stands firm on his claim that he never sent anything sexual in nature, his attorneys say the polygraph results show he is telling the truth. His attorneys are now demanding the university not only clear his name of the allegations, but also make public the names of the three senior UT officials who leaked the allegation to the media, which they say was a calculated political move in the midst of an election year.
