The city wants more turnover around Veterans Drive and Atlanta Street by installing hundreds of parking meters. Jason Redfern with the Transportation Department said meters would also be on Stephen F. Austin Drive by Austin High School, which will be given back to AISD.
This week the city council will consider that an ordinance changing the parking from free to metered, and that ordinance may also allow Austin High to issue up to 75 parking permits for students and visitors.
