The Texas Association of Business is pleased a bill has been filed that would challenge Austin’s paid sick leave ordinance.
If the bill makes it into law, Austin and San Antonio’s ordinances would be rolled back. The Association’s Jeff Moseley believes the market would have come up with a better option for businesses and workers than any city council. He explained now that there is shortage of skilled workers, employers will be more competitive with the benefits they offer.
The time to file bills has just begun, and Moseley continued,TAB long with other groups will be looking at a bill that would address any question statewide on what cities roll should and should not be in making any kind of demand on a business to provide a benefit.
