In an era in which iconic Austin eateries such as Frisco and Threadgill’s have been forced to shutter their doors due to the ever-climbing cost of doing business in Austin, at least one longtime restaurant may be spared from suffering a similar fate.
Monday night, the Historic Landmark Commission will consider a zoning change for Cisco’s, which would give it protected status. Cisco’s began serving food in Austin in 1953. The building in which the restaurant is housing was built in 1914.
The commission meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.
