The city council will discuss an ordinance targeting predatory companies who place boots on cars and charge high fees to have them removed. Officer Eric Miesse said they have been wanting a city ordinance since last summer that caps those fees at $50.
Statewide deregulation of the industry will take effect on September 1, which is why APD hopes to get this ordinance approved as soon as possible.
