Austin City Councilmember Greg Casar is set on learning more about APD’s use of No knock raids.
That’s According to a post on his Facebook page, where Casar says he wants to see if any changes need to be made or if the practice should be done away with. APD Assistant Chief Todd Smith says no-knock raids have real uses for the department, but he says he’s willing to talk about the practice with the council.
Smith says the raids are all signed off by a judge and are a last resort for combating criminals.
