A newspaper says that the U.S. Department of Justice has moved to halt the release of Iranian tanker held in the British overseas territory over an oil shipment to Syria.

3. Gov. Greg Abbott says Texas is adding manpower to gang investigations surrounding white nationalist groups in the wake of the El Paso shooting that left 22 people dead.
Abbott said Wednesday that Texas will also create a new domestic terrorism unit to help “root out the extremist ideologies that fuel hatred and violence in our state.”

4. Today, the latest ‘A-F’ school accountability ratings will be released.
The grading system has been an ongoing source of controvery among Texas educators. Clay Robison with the Texas State Teachers Association says he doesn’t expect to see anything too surprising.
“They will show that the low-income campuses will probably get the lion’s share of the Fs and the Ds,” Robison says.
Last year, no district in the Austin-area received an F, but Manor and Del Valle both received Ds. The Austin district received a B. Only Lake Travis, Dripping Springs, Eanes, and Round Rock received an A rating.
This will be the first year that individual campuses will also be graded on that A-F scale.

5. With school getting back into session, the Austin school district is preparing to again crackdown on drivers who don’t stop when bus lights are flashing red.
Since 2016, more than $10-million in tickets have been written. About 13,000 tickets were written just last year. In that same time period, AISD has generated almost $4-million in revenue for itself.
