DPS seeks suspect who fled Hays County traffic arrest

A man who fled a traffic stop arrest in Hays County last month is being sought by DPS Troopers. In the overnight hours of November 18, cops pulled over a Hyundai Elantra for speeding on I-35. The car pulled away and DPS gave chase with helicopter and K9 units. A short time later they arrested the driver and a female passenger.  Please call CrimeStoppers if you have any info.

 

AUSTIN On 11/18/2018 at approximately 2:20 a.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 2013 Hyundai Elantra on IH35 in Hays County for speeding. The driver of the Hyundai fled the scene and evaded arrest in a motor vehicle, recklessly weaving in and out of traffic, and disregarded multiple traffic control devices. 

 

The vehicle came to a stop at Granada Drive and Catalina Drive.  All three occupants of the vehicle fled on foot into a wooded area.  The DPS helicopter and Austin Police K9 assisted.  The driver and front passenger were located and identified. Driver: Jose Olivo Beltran 23 year old male from Cedar Creek and passenger: Veronica Tijerina 26 year old female from Del Valle. Both were placed under arrest and charged with Evading Arrest Detention W/Vehicle and Possession of Controlled substance over 4 grams but under 200. 

 

The back Hispanic male passenger was not located and that’s were DPS needs your help.  If anyone has any information as to who the above person is please contact Crime stoppers.
