An Elgin man was shot to death overnight. At 10:34 pm on September 14, 2018 deputies responded to a report of multiple shots fired in the 12600 block of Waynespur Ln. When they arrived, they discovered the body of Thomas Hardin, 48 of Elgin, lying on the porch of a residence. Hardin had sustained gunshot wounds.
Early reports indicate Hardin was at the home of a neighbor with whom he had recently been in an argument. Evidence at the scene indicates multiple shots were fired by more than one weapon. Detectives are working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the shooting.
TCSO is working with the District Attorney’s Office and the case is currently being investigated as a homicide. No charges have been filed.
