Experts expect a flat home building market in 2019

2018 was a year of brisk trade for the Austin Round Rock Housing industry, and experts expect this year to look the same.
During the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin’s 2019 Housing Forecast, Eldon Rude of 360 Real Estate Analytics said the Austin economy and expected job growth is fueling a strong housing market, but national politics and a shaky stock market is also weighing it down. He said consumers are a little more nervous about the economy and the direction things are going nationally and globally than ever before.
Therefore he expects the housing market to remain fairly flat with 16,000 homes built and sold in 2019, no better no worse than last year. That’s still a good amount of work for the local builders, but with some added competition tossed in.
