The Central Texas Clean Air Coalition is supposed maintain compliance with federal clean air standards. Travis County has been on the brink of non-attainment of those standards for twenty years. The coalition believes Travis County air will rise above those standards and entities could lose billions of dollars in the process.
Commissioners will look at what they can do to help stem the tide, including letting more employees telecommute during ozone action days, new idling policies for county vehicles and replacing older vehicles.
