The City of Round Rock, in conjunction with the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG), will host public safety officials for a day-long, full-scale exercise to test their collective response to a simulated emergency event. First responders will be tasked with coordinating communication and tactics in line with CAPCOG’s Regional Interoperable Communications Plan and mutual aid plan. Media will be provided with opportunities to capture footage of exercise operations.
First responders from more than 20 various federal, state and local organizations will be present. Round Rock Fire Department Chief Robert Isbell, Round Rock Assistant Police Chief Alain Babin and CAPCOG Homeland Security Director Martin Ritchey will be on-site.
The exercise will take place on the north side of the Round Rock Public Safety Training Center, 2801 N. Mays St.
