A Hays County corrections officer from San Marcos is in legal trouble after he was accused of sexual assault in New Braunfels.
Miguel Simpson was arrested this week.
A person filed a complaint against Simpson after the alleged assault happened earlier this month in Guadeloupe County.
Following his arrest, Guadeloupe County Sheriff Joshua Ray said, “Another sexual predator has been removed from our community. We will continue to aggressively pursue those who prey on vulnerable victims. Of the message hasn’t been clear before, let it be clear now: this will not be tolerated.”
The Hays County Sheriff’s Sffice also released a statement that said in part, “The Hays County Sheriff’s Office holds its personnel to the highest standards and remains committed to transparency, accountability, and public trust.”
