Surprise medical bills should become a thing of the past in Texas thanks to a new law that took effect on January 1st. State Senator Kelly Hancock authored the law that would establish a process of catching the unfair billing before the patient is involved.
Surprise medical bills are often caused by non-network health care providers working at in-network hospitals or emergency facilities.
