The Austin Police Department continues to investigate a shooting at a Target store near 183 and Ohlen Road on Monday. Three people were killed when a gunman opened fire, killing two adults and a child. A fourth person was also treated for injuries at the hospital.
The alleged shooter has been identified as 32-year-old Ethan Nieneker.
According to Chief of Police, Neineker also allegedly stole a car from the parking lot before fleeing the scene, and later crashed near Mopac and Executive Center Boulevard. Davis says he then later tried to carjack another driver before eventually stole another vehicle from a Volkswagen dealership and drove away.
Nieneker was later tracked down by officers in the 2400 block of La Costa Court.
Nieneker faces multiple charges in connection to Monday’s triple murder, and he also has a history of violence against family members.
A motive is not known.
