The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force has arrested a man wanted in connection to a North Austin murder in early October.

Enrique Gomez-Urbina, 21, a Mexican national, was arrested and charged with murder from an incident that occurred in the 8100 block of Research Boulevard. A woman was found dead in a vacant lot near the Jamestown Neighborhood Park on October 6.

The Austin Police Department joined the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, which was able to track down and arrest Gomez-Urbina in the 400 block of Masterson Pass following a foot chase.

Jesus Llamas-Yanez, 48, who is also a Mexican national and an associate of Gomez-Urbina, fled the scene when officers arrived, but he was arrested shortly thereafter. The Department of Homeland Security has identified Llamas-Yanez as an illegal alien who was sought by federal authorities in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas on a weapons charge.

Gomez-Urbina was transported to the Austin Police Department headquarters where he was booked into the Travis County Jail.

Llama-Yanez is awaiting extradition back to Mexico, and an immigration detainer was filed on Gomez-Urbina pending the homicide investigation.
