One of the new laws that took effect at the start of the year requires more reporting of sexual assaults on college campuses.
Rick Gipprich with the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault says assaults going unreported happens more than you think because of the fear and stigma attached to the crime for the victims.
He has one fear regarding this new law, that the mandatory reporting requirements might push some victims further into the shadows because they’re afraid of what will happen.
