New comprehensive regulations for dockless scooter companies are out by the Austin Transportation Department.
Those rules govern what kind and how many scooters companies can have as well as how they are displayed and how they are equipped.
Parking Enterprise Manager Jason Redfern said where scooters can go when riders get off of them are also in the new rules. Redfern also said next year they will look at regulating rider behavior.
Those parking boxes can be done by the city or a private contractor.
