The Blue Garage, a new six story-parking garage at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has opened its first two levels, making 1,900 spaces available.

When the new garage is fully completed in early 2019, nearly 6,000 total parking spaces will be available. Once completed the garage will offer a new space detection guidance system with up-to-the-minute dynamic signage to help direct passengers to empty and available parking spaces.

Located on the former Lot A location, the new Blue Garage is adjacent to the Rental Car Facility. It is beyond the current garage and valet parking at the front of the Barbara Jordan Terminal.

The new garage is part of a larger airport improvement project funded at $250 million. The overall project includes:

  • The new 6,000-space Parking Garage
  • New entry drives and plazas to the parking lots, garages and to the Rental Car Facility
  • Enlarged North Exit Toll Plaza to meet the demands of the expanded parking operations
  • New resurfacing, lighting and striping of Economy Lots
  • Upgrades to signs along Presidential Blvd.
  • New Aviation Administration Building

The Austin City Council approved the project on March 23, 2017, with PGAL as the project architect and Austin Commercial as the contractor.

New garage parking is accessible from Presidential Blvd., the main entrance and roadway to the Barbara Jordan Terminal. Operated by ABIA Parking the Blue Garage parking rate is $15 per day.
