Texas prison inmates will soon be spending less to make calls to loved ones. Texas prison spokesman Jeremy Diesel says the average 15 minute call used to cost almost four dollars, but now that call will cost around 90 cents. He says they’ll make up for the lower cost with an increase in call volume. More phones are being installed and maximum call times are being increased. The money eventually ends up in the crime victim’s compensation fund.
