Round Rock Council votes for developers to help fund roads

Road closed barricade
Developers will now be on the hook to help fund new road projects in Round Rock.
Mayor Craig Morgan has said on more than one occasion that putting some of the burdens on developers has not been an easy decision, but he calls it a necessary one to manage the city’s rapid growth.  However, he admits that, just like any other Central Texas city, mobility challenges will forever be an uphill battle.
Fees will be charged once per development, and up front.  That money will be used to fund things like traffic lights, bridges, land acquisition, and engineering costs.
