Hundreds were evacuated from the State Capitol complex lower extension after reports of people smelling smoke.
DPS’s Victor Taylor said first responders were alerted after a smoky haze was seen in a lower extension of the capitol complex, he also mentions several smelled smoke or some type of wood was burning.
Taylor said Austin Fire Department couldn’t locate a source and called the all-clear.
People were allowed to return back to the building.
The State Fire Marshalls office is continuing to investigate.
