The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force has arrested a man who was wanted for aggravated sexual assault of a child out of Williamson County.
According to the US Marshals Office, Rutilo Alfonso Renteria, 59, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child in connection to an alleged incident in July of 2024.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office obtained an arrest warrant on October 8, 2025, and later requested assistance from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend Renteria, who fled the Austin area.
On November 24, 2025, the Austin-based Lone Star Fugitive Task force were tipped off that Renteria had fled to Mercedes, TX, in Hidalgo County, which led them to seek assistance from the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in McAllen.
Two days later, investigators discovered a gray, 2015 Nissan Van, parked in the back of residence, where it was partially covered with a tarp, and the license plates were removed. And it was there that they located Renteria.
He has been booked into the Hidalgo County Jail on a $150,000 bond and is pending extradition back to Williamson County.
