Texas doesn’t do well, according to the American Lung Association, of funding tobacco prevention programs, strengthening smoke-free workplace laws and providing access to smoking cessation programs. The Association’s Joanna Strother says the state is graded an “F” in all categories by the Association. She says the one bright spot is decent laws against smoking in parks and restaurants. She says the Association would like to see a state-wide ban on smoking for anyone under age 21. Currently, that’s left up to local cities to deal with.
