Texas Workforce Commission Awards $312,000+ Grant to ACC

The Austin Community College District (ACC) will provide specialized job training for NXP USA, Inc. partners through a more than $312,000 Skills and Development Fund grant awarded by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The training will address the evolving needs of the advanced manufacturing industry and help hundreds of workers expand their skills and technical expertise.

  

TWC Chairman and Commissioner Representing the Public, Andres Alcantar, will present a check to ACC and NXP USA, Inc. partners at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at ACC Highland Campus (6101 Airport Blvd.).

 

The grant will provide customized training for 211 incumbent workers. Offered through ACC’s Continuing Education Division, the training program includes focused instruction on semiconductor systems and business. Upon completion of the program, employees will have the knowledge and skills to work efficiently and effectively in an increasingly complex environment.
