Another arrest has been made in connection to the murder of Anthony Salas on May 3, 2025.
Previously, a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old were arrested and charged with capital murder. Now, the U.S. Marshals Office has announced that another 13-year-old juvenile has been taken into custody.
According to Austin police, Salas, 20, was killed at the intersection of Ross Road and Thome Valley Drive while trying to retrieve the family car, which had been stolen. Salas was reportedly shot, run over, and left for dead.
Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force conducted an investigation where officers surrounded a home in the 1800 block of Post Road in San Marcos, where the juvenile was arrested following a barricaded situation.
A search warrant was conducted on the residence that yielded a seizure of a .40 caliber pistol. The juvenile was transferred to Austin Police and arraigned in the Austin Municipal Court.
Capital murder is also the charge filed in this latest arrest.
