With the new year comes another chance for new homeowners to sign up for a homestead exemption. The Travis Central Appraisal District’s Myra Crigler says about 216-thousand homeowners already do.
Crigler says the exemption will reduce how much TCAD can value your home, and put a limit on how much your home value can rise, thereby making tax season more affordable. You have until April 30th to sign up.
