TxDOT Finds No Structural Damage Following I-35 Bridge Crash

The Texas Department of Transportation says a truck that struck the 11th Street bridge Tuesday evening did not cause any structural damage to the span.

According to TxDOT officials, the crash occurred during the evening hours when a truck hit the bridge, prompting an initial response to assess potential safety concerns. Crews inspected the structure shortly after the incident.

Following that evaluation, officials confirmed the bridge remains safe and structurally sound, with no long-term damage identified.

While the bridge itself was not compromised, the crash may have caused minor surface or cosmetic damage. It’s unclear whether the driver will face any citations related to the incident.

Traffic in the area was impacted for hours as crews responded and conducted inspections.

TxDOT reminds drivers—particularly those operating large trucks—to be aware of height clearances when traveling through urban corridors to avoid similar incidents.
