Work continues to replace flood destroyed bridge

Last years major flooding that had the city of Austin boiling water also washed away a bridge in Llano County. While Austin Water is back to normal, TxDOT’s Dianne Hodges says they have a trio of barges working on the RM 2900 replacement bridge and needed the Lower Colorado River Authority’s help to keep going.
She says Lake LBJ has been lowered by four-feet to facilitate the repairs. She says some lakefront property owners may have wanted a lower level to make their own repairs, but she says if it were any lower it would make the reconstruction effort difficult.
