A handful of construction sites in Austin have been cited for repeat violations of social distancing rules.
Austin City officials say around a dozen construction sites in Austin have been flagged for violating social distancing rules, adding its not the first time for some of these operations. Interim Health Authority Dr. Mark Escott said construction sites have become a hotspot of Covid 19 infections and the city continues to provide guidance.
The city is looking into beefed up communication from the public. That includes letting people upload photos, and encouraging them to report further violations. And soon, the city will rollout a new complaint database using data from those 3-1-1 calls.
