The Cedar Park Police Department says its Major Crimes Unit has arrested several juveniles linked to a series of violent crimes and smash-and-grab burglaries across Central Texas.
Investigators, working with Austin ISD Police, uncovered a group of teens tied to aggravated assaults, firearm thefts, armed vehicle thefts, and break-ins targeting vape and liquor stores. Some suspects have prior violent criminal histories, including weapons and murder charges.
The case began in early October after burglars used stolen cars to crash through storefronts in Cedar Park and steal large amounts of merchandise. Detectives later linked the same group to similar burglaries in Pflugerville, Austin, and Williamson County through surveillance footage and social media posts showing stolen goods and illegal weapons.
On October 29, Cedar Park detectives and Central Texas Regional SWAT served search warrants at the Booker T. Washington Apartments in Austin, making multiple arrests. Fourteen more directives to apprehend have been issued for juveniles connected to the crimes.
“These are not petty offenders — they are armed, organized, and dangerous juveniles,” said Lieutenant Justin Miller with the Major Crimes Section. “Their arrests prevented further harm to our community.”
So far, five juveniles and one adult, identified as Isiah Escobar, face charges including burglary, organized criminal activity, theft of firearms, and possession of stolen property. All but one of the juveniles are now in custody.
Cedar Park Police thanked the Austin Police Department, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Austin ISD Police, and Central Texas Regional SWAT for helping with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
