The San Marcos Police Department has taken the lead in the investigation into a Kyle police officer who has been found dead inside of an apartment. The officer who was found dead at the Asbury Place Apartments has been identified as Fernando Solis. Officials say police and EMS responded to a call around 5:00 p.m. yesterday about a man who had been shot, and found Solis inside of his personal vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Solis was off-duty at the time.
Solice was a Marine Corps Veteran and been working as a KPD officer since last December.
