Combating prescription painkiller misuse is the goal of a new initiative to be rolled out today by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. He’s teaming up with the state’s top doctors to protect Texans from opioid addiction.
One is State Health Services Commissioner Dr. John Hellerstadt who said data shows that opioids play a significant roll in in-patient stays and deaths here in Texas.
Paxton will also be joined by Health and Human Services Commissioner Dr. Courtney Phillips in an afternoon Press Conference to announce their latest initiative.
