More than 150 students across Texas have sent Governor Abbott a letter, encouraging him to consider their views when drafting school safety policies.
The letter says students are sick of well-funded, out-of-state groups exploiting tragedies to justify their call for more gun restrictions. It adds that they are fed-up with these groups using terms like “safety” and “common sense” as smoke screens for their efforts to disarm honest people. It ends with students saying, “we need less of their anti-second amendment rhetoric and more focus on actual school safety solutions.”
