Following the overwhelming rejection of a property tax hike by voters in Proposition Q, Austin City Manager T.C. Broadnax has unveiled a revised fiscal year 2026 budget with significant cuts to city departments, Texas Governor Greg Abbott officially announced during an event in Houston on Sunday night that he is running for governor in 2026 and eight Senators in the Democratic caucus crossed the aisle to vote with Republicans to break the filibuster on a government funding bill and set the stage for an end to the government shutdown.

The U.S. Senate has passed a funding bill to end the ongoing government shutdown, the U.S. Supreme court has declined to consider a challenge to their landmark decision that legalized same sex marriage and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing the Galveston ISD for failing to post the ten commandments in classrooms.

Thursday 11/13

President Trump has signed a bill to fund the federal government and end the longest government shutdown in history, the Austin City Council has postponed a meeting after local attorneys alleged the council violated the Texas Open Meetings Act and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing Harris County over alleged programs that assist illegal immigrants using taxpayer dollars.
