Steve Adler is in his final term as the mayor of Austin, and already a candidate to replace him has emerged. Jennifer Virden, who was unable to defeat Alison Alter for the District 10 seat back in November, says she will run for mayor next year. Virden is a republican who says her priorities would be public safety and core infrastructure needs. The are no other challengers yet.
