Despite AISD and APD’s best efforts to deter people from illegally passing school busses while lights are flashing, tens of thousands of drivers continue to be violators. The Statesman reports that in the past two years over 35, 500 tickets have been issued with fines totaling $7.3 million dollars.
This past year over 17 thousand citations were handed out. It’s a $300 fine to pass a school bus while loading or unloading.
