Two Stabbed on Capital Metro Bus

Two people were injured in a stabbing aboard a Capital Metro bus in South Austin on Friday afternoon, according to the Austin Police Department.

Police said officers responded to a shoot/stab hot shot call around 1:34 p.m. Friday in the 2000 block of South Lamar Boulevard, just north of West Oltorf Street.

When officers arrived, they found a bus that had pulled over along the roadway and detained one person at the scene.

Austin-Travis County EMS transported two victims to local hospitals following the attack. Authorities said one victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the other was reported to be in critical but stable condition.

Police said the person detained in connection with the stabbing was also taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Officials with Capital Metro confirmed the incident involved three people aboard the bus at the time of the stabbing.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led up to the attack, and it remains unclear whether the individuals involved knew each other. The investigation is ongoing.
