Williamson County Inks Semiconductor Cooperation Agreement

Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell on Thursday is signing a mutual cooperation agreement between the county and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency to mark the Grand Opening of the KOTRA Global Partnering Center in Austin. The agreement was approved by the Williamson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday. Williamson County is the first county in the United States to approve such an agreement.

The number of Korean semiconductor enterprises that are considering Texas as their next expansion is growing significantly. In particular, expansion by Korean companies into the U.S. are expected to be more active due to the announcement of the CHIPS for America Act.

With the opening of this office, KOTRA plans to provide customized local entry programs for each tenant company, such as support for shared office occupancy costs, providing professional consulting for local settlement, and marketing support for global buyers.
